Student Sleep

Have you ever spent your break time sleeping? Or have you felt really sleepy while you are listening to your lectures? A lot of students that I am one of them would say yes especially on Mondays. Do you know why? Because we love to spend our weekends as much as we can having fun. While we are saying that we are taking care of our health, but we unfortunately are not, because we are taking care of unimportant or luxury things. And we usually forget or ignore what does the sleepless cause in our wellness or our life. Students do not pay attention for their wellness especially in the most important part which is sleeping.
First of all, we may think that our brains and bodies are shut down as a computer while we are sleeping, but it is not so. There are many things that going on them while we are slumbering. First, the most important part of human beings is the brain. According to Wikipedia in sleep section, our brains are active all the night. And they also say that there are five different levels or storages of sleep for typical night's sleep each one takes or spends 90 minutes to get to next level. The first four storages are called quiet sleep or non – rapid eye movement (NREM). And the last one which is the fifth one is called rapid eye movement (REM). From first storage of sleep to the fourth one brain's waves become larger and slower then when we are awake to make sleep deeper. Then in REM level they will be lager and slower to start dreaming. Moreover the blood flow rises sharply is some brain areas to processing memories and emotional experiences. Second, the less important part of human beings which is the body is working all the night as well. For example, when we go to bed at night, our bodies will start their activities such as creating or keeping hormones level, repairing or making skin cells, and getting the best woke of immune system. So to get all these process well done, we need between seven to eight hours of nice sleep as the health scinentists recommend.
Next, falling sleep is not that thing most of student can do it easy. So there are some tips to have a good night's sleep. Avoiding caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol is the great tip to fall sleep easy. For instance, if we drank one of the dangerous triangle as I called it, we would be awake all the night, get difficultly fall sleep, or wake up early in morning. Secondly, setting a schedule will help to it without any problems. For a good result we have to follow the schedule every day, so if we go to bed for example at nine to ten clock, we must wake up at five to six in the morning even on the weekends! I know that is hard for a lot of us, but we will never get tired on Mondays. Third, doing exercise or working out makes falling sleep easer. We really need to do exercise at least 20 to 30 minutes daily not just for getting sleep easer, but it is important thing for our wellness and life. So for this case will be better if we do it before five to six hours of bed time to get its benefit. Lastly, relaxing before bed helps to sleep fast. For instance, reading a book will lead us to sleep or taking a warm bath will make us ready to sleep. Now we should try whatever we can do from this list to make us fall sleep easy.
Students should reach some sleep benefits to know that we sleeping well. First of all, storing enough energy for next day and night. For example, if we have a good night's sleep, we will be active all the time and could do a lot of actions such as studying, swimming, and dancing at night. It will also improve our life quality. Moreover, keeping our heart healthy is another kind of sleep benefits. Sleeping helps to reduce the stress and inflammation levels which are usually effect heart disease and strokes. And sleep can also keep cholesterol levels that causes in heart disease.
Finally, improving our memory is one of the great benefits of sleep. For instance, our brains will do better process new experiences and knowledge, and it will increase our understanding. These are some of many benefits that the students will get it from good night's sleep.
In short, getting some knowledge about sleep such as what do our bodies do while we are sleeping? What we need to have a good night's sleep? Or some benefits of good sleep. Will show the importance of it which is a lot of students think is not that thing they need to care about it. And as the Arabic idem says "One cent for avoiding disease better than thousands for treating these disease." That means if we do easy little things to be away of big problems, it will be better than solve or find a solution for them.
